I purchased the game Jan 1 and been enjoying it. It crashes a lot but the autosave when docking really offsets the impact of it.
On this topic I must say that the fees at this moment are workable but the biggest problem is not the fees but the economy model itself. Primarily that the locations that produce items produce too few of them which forces the player to go to other locations to pick up more of it OR of other goods. Each location bites into the profit margin and if you have a 10-pod trade ship this means you can end up losing almost half of your profits just flying around filling the ship up.
Then when you have your cargo holds full, selling the items is also a clusterF problem due to there being no way to know how many of each item the location will purchase at above market price and the ship-comm request to know buy prices is never even close to accurate.
Essentially, your players are both forced to collecting tiny amounts at multiple stations and then sell them back half-blind… and incurring fees and risk during flight doing so.
Then we have inconsistent markets… it makes no sense how an industrial planet pays cents for raw materials while an agricultural planet pays top dollar for cybernetics/industrial equipment.
