Hey everyone! You're quite right, we've been awfully silent on here, and I can only apologise for that. I'll do up a quick post now reminding everyone that we're still here, and have been working on the game as our primary focus for quite a long time.
I know that we've been light on the forums, but we've still been recording new episodes of the podcast as often as we can - a new one has just gone up.
But that's a very one-sided kind of interaction, so I realise that's not what you want as well.
If I may address your comments in point form:
Status Nominal Post from time to time - absolutely. I'll make a point of doing that from now on!
Release Date: You're quite right, it's not hitting this year. We're aiming for a release date in the first part of 2018, and will be more specific as soon as we can!
Links to other places where updates are happening: Certainly, I'll make a point of linking to some external sources where we're noisier.
Posting on social media etc but not here: You're also very right that it's not great to be putting so much effort into social media and not on the forum given that the forum is where the most dedicated people are. This too is something I will rectify immediately.
Writing / Lore stuff: What specifically would you like to see Victor? I tend to keep the narrative content a little quieter out of a (perhaps mistaken?) belief that fans wouldn't want spoilers, but I'd be more than happy to share things with you. Perhaps if I could ask for a little direction regarding what you'd like to know about specifically? We haven't really done a narrative-driven game before, so this is new territory for us.
Convention-heavy presence: The main reasons we've been showing the same or very similar combat-based demo content at shows are thus: 1) People at shows only have a few minutes to play the game and 2) We want to hold off on the open-world content of the game until we have a really significant way to show it properly - we're waiting until we have close-to-final space stations and characters which have their animation sets in there. I think on this front, it's us being a little gun-shy about showing things which a re still very WIP.
Again, I wholeheartedly apologise for our lack of presence on the forums, and will make a post explaining where things are at now. I really hope you do continue to follow along with development, and promise to make the forum a more active place for dev news and more importantly interaction with us and the team.
Thank you for making this post Victor. While it was hard to read, it's also very much a wakeup call. We HAVE been neglecting the forums, and we apologise.
