Liitle Guide to Sensors
1. Modules and Frequencies.
Each Module emits signals in a certain range of frequencies.
Reactor – 1000hz
Batteries – 700hz
Sensors – 830hz
Helm – 670hz
Comms – 690
RCS – 400
You find out in Your ship
2. Reading the Sensors
So You can Check the Signature on the Sensors for a certain Object. If it is a ship it shall use certain System over time, or it is in EMCON (stealth) mode.
Here the Ship is using IFF (the peak left) it has an active reactor REAC, it is changing Heading using the RCS and it shows slight peaks arround 600 - 800 which indicates NAV, Helm and Sensors.
If You click HIST, You can see if the Objects was using one of the Systems in the Past.
A Pirate could looks like this.
You see IFF is Off, but using a reactor, shows REAC, NAV and Sensors activities.
So what to be aware of is, activity in RCS, DRVE and- WEAP. Then it could become hot for You.
So it could be, that a Pirate pops up in front of You without being warned before, if You don’t have an eye on all the: Objects in Space
On the other hand, if You go in Emcon mode, all this lines would disappear from the sensors of the opponent. So Pirates or Authorities can not Track You down. At least as long Your Batteries lasts.
Hope that helps a bit
