OK, for anyone interested in modding the game, I’ll post things Ive learned, I successfully added a battery in my own separate file, so it seems file naming IS important, I put my new battery in a file I named modules_batteries-st.txt and it showed up and worked perfectly, so… it seems you CAN add your own files and have them work, but file names seem important, apparently -your mod is a working way, like modules_batteries-st.txt (the st being my initials) I think the modules_batteries part was what was important, I went with the dash aka - to add my tag as I was afraid that using a underline aka _ might make the game read to much into the file name.
Keep in mind that if you add a new module, so far, you can either add it (lets use batteries as an example) to the existing module_batteries file, but everytime you update your game, it will get replaced, or you can make a new txt file and name it modules_batteries-xx , xx being your mod tag, also, you have to add this new file to the bottom of the module.txt file like so:
in addition you need to add it to the compinterfaces.txt file for the components and make sure the new id matches your new item. I have not tested yet if say compinterfaces-st.txt (aka just adding-your tag) will work just yet, but if it does, then you need to add it to the objectsinspace.txt file like for example:
include compinterfaces-xx.txt (xx being your mod tag)
anyway hope this helps you guys out, will test that above thing to see if it works and let you know, if it does will probably change the topic as I’ll have figured out my own question
